Commerce Authority receives $95K grant

The Arizona Commerce Authority has received a $95,000 grant under the U.S. Small Business Administration's Federal and State Technology partnership program.

The grant, one of 20 issued nationwide, is designed to stimulate economic development among small high-technology businesses through federally funded innovation and research-and- development programs like the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer.

The project and budget periods are for the fiscal year that will start Oct. 1.

The grant requires varying levels of matching funds from each participating state and territory.

Gas prices up again; Tucson about $3.41

Gasoline prices around Arizona are higher again this week as crude-oil costs remain high, according to AAA Arizona.

The average statewide price for regular gasoline was $3.57 a gallon, up by almost 3 cents from last week.

This week's national average is at $3.66 per gallon, down by a penny from last week.

Tucson has the lowest average gasoline price in Arizona at $3.41 a gallon, up 2 cents in a week, while Flagstaff has the highest at $3.76.
