A local charter high school now has a bigger and better place to do business, after winning a $20,000 office makeover from Goodmans Interior Structures.

The 2013 winner of Goodmans “Eye for the Good GuyS Board Governance Award,” the nonprofit Edge School at Himmel Park, now has a multipurpose room with more than twice the formal seating capacity, allowing 25 people to participate in board meetings.

Besides repairing a broken room divider, Phoenix-based Goodmans provided tables and chairs that easily move and store in a small space; created a mobile white board; added electrical outlets and increased data capacity; mounted a 70-inch LCD TV on the wall; replaced ceiling tiles and flooring and painted walls; and hung pictures of students and their artwork on the walls.Edge School Board President Greg Hart said the newly expanded space will more comfortably and efficiently accommodate the board, students, staff and the members of the community. “The renovation will strengthen our commitment to our mission to serve young people for years to come,” Hart said.
