Chaco’s Cafe, the popular breakfast and lunch joint near Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, is opening a second location downtown on Thursday.
It takes over the spot once occupied by Chris’ Courtly Café at 405 W. Congress St., in front of the Evo A. DeConcini U.S. States Courthouse complex.
Owner Brenda DeSouza said the new location comes with new opportunity.
“The streetcar is going in,” she said. “There is a lot of UA housing going up. Downtown needs something like Chaco’s.”
Chaco’s original location at 2027 S. Craycroft Road, will remain open.
DeSouza said the new Chaco’s will serve Mexican food, but also salads, soups and sandwiches. It will be open Mondays-Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
