A luxury home in the Catalina Foothills sold for $3.7 million, the highest closing price in the Tucson metro market in nearly six years, according to Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, which represented the buyer and the seller.

The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home, is located on 6.73 acres in a private development, but the address, buyer and seller were not disclosed. The sale included the adjacent parcel of land and closed jointly this month, Russ Lyon Sotheby’s said in a news release.

The realty firm cited statistics from the Tucson Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service showing the sale price was the highest for a single-family residence in the Tucson metro area since July 2008. The Tucson Association of Realtors confirmed that statement.

Russ Lyon Sotheby’s Agent Nikki Halle, who led a team that handled the sale, said many luxury homes never show up in the Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service because they are custom-built.
