The recent surge in gas prices slowed this week, with both statewide and national averages increasing about a penny.
On Friday, Arizona’s average price was $3.39 per gallon of regular gas, while the national average was $3.54 per gallon, according to AAA Arizona.
Tucson had the state’s lowest average gas price, nearly flat for the week at $3.30 per gallon on Friday. Flagstaff has the state’s highest average price at $3.55 per gallon.
AAA said it expects gas prices to rise a bit more before peaking in the coming weeks, driven mainly by seasonal refinery maintenance.
