There are many opinions about Obamacare for small businesses, but what are the facts about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for the almost 400,000 small businesses in Arizona?
Depending on the size of your business, different provisions of the Affordable Care Act may apply. This is why it’s important that small business owners know the facts about the law and use them to make any business decisions.
Check out the new, streamlined health care tool for businesses — online at Business.USA.gov (or direct at tinyurl.com/ksfduvf) — to find out exactly what you need to know. This tool uses several prompts including your business’s location, size, and whether you currently offer insurance to connect you with the resources you need from Small Business Administration , the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Treasury and our other federal partners.
For example, if you’re a small- business owner in Arizona with more than 50 employees, but many are part time, you calculate the equivalent for two employees, each of whom works 15 hours per week, as one full-time employee.
This tool provides the facts for the self-employed with no employees, fewer than 25 employees, up to 50 employees and 50 or more employees.
