Domestic-abuse center promotes Mercurio-Sakwa

Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse named Ed Mercurio-Sakwa as CEO.

Mercurio-Sakwa has served the organization in various roles including director of program operations and chief operating officer since 2008.

He will be responsible for providing fiscal, strategic and operational leadership.

Mercurio-Sakwa has worked in the Tucson nonprofit community since 1997, most recently at Every Voice in Action Foundation promoting youth activism and leadership.

He is a graduate of Cholla High School and the University of Arizona. Mercurio-Sakwa earned his master of business administration at James Madison University. Prior to returning to Tucson in 1997, he worked for several nonprofits including as executive director for two domestic violence programs.

Edward Moomjian joins Rusing Lopez & Lizardi

Attorney Edward Moomjian II joined the Rusing Lopez & Lizardi law firm, bringing expertise in complex commercial litigation, prosecuting and defending class actions, employment law and legal malpractice litigation.

He is a contributing author to the fourth edition of Newberg on Class Actions, the leading class-action treatise, the law firm said in a news release.

Before becoming a lawyer, Moomjian worked as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace and electronic medical device industries.

He received a mechanical engineering degree from Arizona State University and a law degree from the University of Arizona College of Law, serving on its Law Review. He was a law clerk to Judge Thomas C. Kleinschmidt of the Arizona Court of Appeals.

Moomjian practiced most recently with the Udall Law Firm in Tucson, and is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell, its highest rating.

Vankurin joins West Press, will head Internet division

Jesse Vankurin joined the West Press team as Web and multimedia supervisor.

Vankurin has 20 years of Web development experience and law and liberal arts degrees.

Heading up the firm's Internet division, Vankurin will oversee website design and development and multimedia projects for Tucson area and out-of-state businesses. His primary focus will be building responsive websites, e-commerce development and search engine optimization.

He has experience in Web design, cutting-edge software and video manipulation, and in the back-end coding languages needed to bring the vision to completion, West Press said in a news release.

McGlamery to manage business operations

McGlamery Longley Wealth Management LLC, a Tucson-based financial services firm, appointed Beau McGlamery as managing coordinator of business operations. He will also serve as senior agent for Meditunion, the firm's Medicare insurance services division.

McGlamery has management experience with the Tucson Orthopedic Institute, overseeing the digital file transfer of medical records. He is licensed in life and health insurance, proficient in Medicare and individual health insurance, and led the Life Insurance Department at Berwick Insurance Group LLC.

He holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Arizona.
