Randall has new job at Universal Avionics

Robert Randall was appointed senior sales manager, U.S., for Universal Avionics.

He will manage the company’s regional sales managers and oversee all authorized dealer sales for the United States.

Randall began his career with Universal Avionics in September 2008 as Midwest regional sales manager before transitioning into his most recent position as OEM Sales Manager in 2012.

Before joining Universal Avionics, Randall had more than 30 years of avionics maintenance, testing, sales and management experience. He is a United States Naval Aviation Veteran, a licensed A&P Mechanic and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

Gajda will manage EEC surveying services

Patricia Gajda joined Engineering and Environmental Consultants Inc. as manager of land surveying services.

Gajda has more than 11 years of experience in subdivision platting, construction staking, legal descriptions, records of surveys, topographic mapping, right-of-way mapping and American Land Title Association/American Congress on Surveying & Mapping land title surveys. She is registered in Arizona and Nevada.

Borderland promotes Shepherd to president

Steve Shepherd, who has worked for 31 years at Borderland Construction Company, is the firm’s new president. He succeeds Toby Allen, who retired after 21 years with the company, the last eight as president.

Shepherd was the company’s executive vice president for the past five years. He has had several positions at Borderland , including equipment operator , grade checker, field supervisor, general superintendent and operations manager. Nearly 17 years ago he began estimating and managing many of Borderland’s roadways, underground and private projects.

Internship program at San Miguel hires 3

San Miguel Catholic High School’s corporate internship program has three new employees.

Argelia “RJ” Saavedra was hired as corporate relations manager. Saavedra grew up in the San Miguel neighborhood and graduated from Sunnyside High School and the University of Arizona, where she received a degree in public administration. Previously she worked as a sales executive at Dignity Memorial.

Hilda Rosales is a corporate internship program coordinator. Rosales, a native Tucsonan, graduated from Canyon del Oro High School and the University of Phoenix, where she earned a degree in business administration. She worked for 21 years for the Pima Health System. This past year she also worked at Bridgeway Health Solutions.

Briana Valdez also is a new corporate internship program coordinator. A graduate of Desert View High School, she received a degree in criminal justice from Northern Arizona University. Before going to San Miguel, Valdez worked at Pima County Justice Court as a civil lawsuit clerk.
