Diocese names Crespo director of Catholic cemeteries

Anthony Crespo is the new director of the Diocese of Tucson Catholic Cemeteries Inc.

He replaces James DeCastro, who left the position in mid-April.

Crespo will oversee operations at the cemeteries operated within the Diocese of Tucson, which include Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Road, and Our Lady of the Desert/All Faiths Cemetery, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes.

Crespo was owner and managing partner of Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas, for the last 12 years. A third-generation funeral director, he has a long affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, the National Funeral Directors Association and the Serra Club of East Harris County, Texas.

He is fluent in Spanish.

Tu Nidito organization appoints Ross, Scott, Gibson

Tu Nidito Child and Family Resources announces:

• Dasha Ross has been named development coordinator, responsible for fundraising, grant writing and event planning. She brings 11 years of experience.

• Erica Scott is the new volunteer coordinator, recruiting and training volunteers. Scott has been a community volunteer for the past 15 years.

• Tara Gibson is now marketing and community relations coordinator. She will work on community partnerships, marketing, public relations, fundraising and planning of the El Tour de Tucson Ride for a Child program. She has experience in both private and nonprofit business.

Helix House Marketing taps Lankin to direct Tucson office

Gerald Lankin has been named Tucson office director at Helix House Internet Marketing Agency.

Prior to joining the firm he was president of Baja Nueva Design and Decorating Studio in San Felipe, Mexico.

Lankin has more than 25 years of experience in the securities and stock-exchange industry, including serving as vice president of wealth management for Smith Barney - Citigroup in Scottsdale, he said in a news release.

He attended Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton School.

He is a past grand master of Masons in Arizona and immediate past president of the Tucson Pima Rotary Club.

Vasquez opens new office of Allstate Insurance on Stone

Allstate Insurance Co. announces the opening of a new office in Tucson, which is independently owned and operated by agent Ramon Vasquez.

The office is at 648 N. Stone Ave. and can be reached at 624-3309.

The agency sells auto, property and life insurance, an array of financial services including mutual funds and annuities, as well as protection for boats, recreational vehicles and businesses.

Dave Niichel joins TCI as a financial adviser

Dave Niichel has joined TCI Wealth Advisors Inc. as a financial adviser.

Niichel is responsible for all aspects of managing client finances, including researching, analyzing and preparing financial plans.

He received his bachelor of arts in finance from Washington State University.

Niichel has an extensive background in medical and pharmaceutical sales and marketing, the firm said in a news release. He has supported local charities including Child and Family Resources, San Miguel High School and Youth on Their Own.

Staff Matters hires Schaaf as light-industrial recruiter

Staff Matters, a Tucson-owned and operated firm, has hired Sam Schaaf as a recruiter for its light industrial and administrative staffing services division in Southern Arizona.

Schaaf brings with him five years of industry experience.
