A Mesa-based plumbing and HVAC wholesale distributor is moving into Tucson and is looking for workers.

Farnsworth Wholesale Co. has leased 52,346 square feet at Midvale Park Commerce Center, 6701 S. Midvale Park Road, just south of Valencia Road.

“We have been coming down to Tucson for a number of years, at least once a day to deliver to our customers,” said Jack Stapley, the company’s vice president. “We expect to hire up to 60 people by the end of the year and then we hope to double that within two years.”

Jobs include warehouse workers, truck drivers, sales and clerical.

FWC has three divisions, plumbing, HVAC and water works, which includes underground utilities for water and sewer mains, Stapley said. A handful of employees are already on site in Tucson to get the warehouse ready for operations to begin next month.

Building manager Steve Smith is available to answer questions about the company and its services, Stapley said. He can be reached at (520)-373-0888.

Bill Di Vito and Jesse Blum with CBRE negotiated the lease on behalf of the landlord, 6701 S. Midvale Park LLC. FWC was represented by Dave Collins of COBE Real Estate.

“As our local economy continues to improve, major companies are looking at Tucson as a place to expand or locate,” Di Vito said. “FWC’s entrance into the market is a perfect example of that trend. Prior to this lease, the company was servicing Tucson out of metro Phoenix with anywhere from five to 10 trucks a day.

“It just made sense to expand to a physical location in the market.”
