Officials want Prescott to be drone test site

PRESCOTT - Prescott officials want the Yavapai County city to be considered as a site for federal testing on how to integrate unmanned aircraft into the nation's airspace.

That's despite some residents' concerns about privacy from unwanted surveillance.

The City Council approved an agreement with the Arizona Commerce Authority to participate in a pitch for selection as one of the six planned test sites nationally.

Mayor Marlin Kuykendall said the testing would be a great industry for the area.
