Food bank chief Carnegie to retire

Bill Carnegie, president and CEO of the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, has announced he will retire effective Dec. 31.

Carnegie has been chief of the local food bank since January 2006 and has more than 25 years of experience in food banking, including stints with food banks in South Bend, Ind., and Grand Rapids, Mich.

The food bank said its board will start an immediate nationwide search for Carnegie's successor.

Job fair for veterans planned for July 25 and the Non Commissioned Officers Association will host a job fair for veterans July 25 in Sierra Vista.

The free event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Windemere Hotel & Conference Center, 2047 S. Highway 92, Sierra Vista.

Last call to nominate a small biz for award

Monday is the last day to nominate a small business for the Pima County Small Business Commission's 2013 Small Business of the Year Awards.
