Hughes ad featuring Miller, Olson wins prize
Hughes Federal Credit Union has won a national award for its TV advertising, "The Switch," featuring University of Arizona men's basketball coach Sean Miller and NCAA legend Lute Olson.
Hughes won a Diamond Award at the Credit Union National Association Marketing & Business Development Conference in Los Angeles in the television commercial series category.

Hughes says it was recognized for increasing brand awareness of its association with Miller and the University of Arizona Visa Debit Card.
"This is the third national industry award we've won for our creative concept featuring Coach Miller and we feel very positive about our partnership with the coach and university," Kellie Terhune Neely, Hughes' vice president for marketing, said in a news release.
Retail federation official to speak at conference here
Matthew Shay, president and CEO of the National Retail Federation, will give the keynote address at this week's Global Retailing Conference in Tucson.
Speaking in front of top executives from companies including Macy's, The Hudson Bay Co. and Tory Burch, Shay will announce the federation's latest initiative, "This is Retail: Careers, Community, Innovation."
Shay's speech will highlight "opportunities for life-long retail careers, how retailers strengthen communities at home and abroad, and the critical role that retail plays in driving innovation, paving the way for quicker access to product, smarter shopping and better customer experience overall," the University of Arizona said in a news release.
The conference, held by the UA's Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing, runs Thursday and Friday at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.
