Because the recession has “vastly altered” Southern Arizona’s key economic drivers, Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc. will present an updated version of its economic blueprint for Tucson on April 30.
Themed “We Win as One,” the update focuses on topics including talent, infrastructure, business environment and health care, and “on how to best take advantage of emerging opportunities in a new economic landscape,” TREO officials said in a news release.
The original blueprint was written in 2007, after TREO gathered Southern Arizona leaders to develop a comprehensive process and plan to transform the regional economy. The first blueprint can be found at http://www.treoaz.org/index.php/about-treo/economic-blueprint .
TREO says the update answers these questions:
- Are the original blueprint strategies still relevant in the new global economy?
What must we still do to ensure we capture our fair share of prosperity in the new economic landscape?
The launch of the update will take place April 30 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 700 N. Resort Drive.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $60 for TREO investors or $75 for non-investors. See http://www.treoaz.org/index.php/about-treo/event-calendar to register. Registration deadline is Friday by close of business.
