The Tucson-area median home price stayed essentially flat in October, though the number of home sales was up nearly 15 percent from last year, according to the most recent figures from the Tucson Association of Realtors.

The average price of existing homes sold here last month was $192,433, up 1.8 percent from September and 9.4 percent higher than October 2012, according to the Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service.

October’s median home price — which lessens the effect of the very high and very low sales prices — was $155,000, down slightly from September but up 8.4 percent from October 2012.

A total of 1,130 listed homes in the Tucson area were sold in October, a 7.5 percent increase from September and up 5 percent from October last year.

The number of new listings in October rose 6 percent from September and was about 11 percent higher than October 2012, the Realtors group said.

The average number of days homes are on the market was 50 days, up from 47 in September and 49 in October 2012, the Realtors said.
