Walmart has opened a temporary hiring center to recruit 300 workers for a new store opening this fall in the south side.

The retailer has opened a temporary hiring center at 1010 E. Palmdale St., Suite 104, off South Park Avenue near the new store location. The hiring center is accepting applications Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Jobseekers also can apply online at careers.walmart.com

The store is under construction at The Bridges, a new development north of Interstate 10 between South Kino Parkway and South Park Avenue.

According to store manager Brian Schield, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates in all areas of the new store, including supervisory positions.

Most employees will begin work in September to help prepare the store for its grand opening this fall, Walmart said.
