A gourmet cake and pie shop opened its door in Tucson this past weekend and was greeted by a long line of fans of the Mexican delicacies.
“The first opening was a hit,” said Juan Pablo Briseño, the company’s director of U.S. operations. “We’ve been embraced.”
The shop is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
The Hermosillo, Sonora-based chain has 263 shops in 22 states throughout Mexico. The company hopes to expand in the U.S.
A grand opening with dignitaries from both sides of the border will be held Feb. 17 at 4:30 p.m.
The event will include free tastings and giveaways.
