Four businesses and 14 homes were destroyed in Sunday's wind-driven flare up, Cochise County sheriff's officials said Monday night. That brings the number of damaged or destroyed homes and businesses in the Monument Fire to 65.

The four businesses were on the west side of Arizona 92 in the community of Nicksville, south of Sierra Vista, said sheriff's spokeswoman Carol Capas. They include Ricardo's restaurant, Nick's Place, an auto body shop, and a beauty shop, she said.

Of the 14 houses, one was on the west side of Arizona 92, just north of Carr Canyon Road. The other 13 houses lost were east of Arizona 92 in an area south of Ramsey Road, said Cochise County Deputy Chief Rod Rothrock.
