On Arizona’s first drive of the season, against NAU, quarterback B.J. Denker found junior Garic Wharton for a 31-yard gain down the sideline. Believe it or not, that stood as the UA’s longest passing play until last week against USC.

The senior quarterback from Torrance, Calif., went from B.J. Dink-and-Dunk to B.J. Air it Out against the Trojans. In fact, five of Arizona’s six longest pass completions came in the team’s loss to the Trojans:

Here’s a look at the UA’s six longest completions of the season.

Game Length Receiver Result of the drive

USC 57 Nate Phillips Touchdown on the play

USC 45 Garic Wharton Touchdown on the play

USC 32 Johnny Jackson Field goal six plays later

NAU 31 Wharton Touchdown three plays later

USC 28 Wharton Touchdown on the play

USC 27 Terrence Miller Field goal seven plays later
