The cast of Artifact Dance Projects’ “Downtown.”

Artifact Dance Project

Artifact Dance Project doesn’t believe in hogging the spotlight.

It regularly collaborates with other artists in town.

Next up is “Downtown,” with Rebecca Carlson performing jazz standards, and a band that includes Chris Black, Sly Slipetsky and Fred Hayes.

Choreographer Ashley Bowman has shaped the dance, performed by a cast of nine.

The performance will be at Artifact’s studio in the downtown warehouse district, 17 E. Toole Ave. Performances are so intimate they are practically in your face. Which makes the experience of one of their concerts all the more thrilling.

It’s 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16-18 and 5 p.m. Nov. 19. The 60-minute concert has no intermission. Tickets are $22 at 235-7638 or artifactdanceproject.org.
