Arizona Opera is teaming up with Tucson Habitat for Humanity for a benefit wine and song event Wednesday that celebrates “our shared humanity.”

The event, a fundraiser for Habitat, will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 3501 N. Mountain Ave., the opera company’s former home that it sold to Habitat a few years ago.

From 6 to 8 p.m., singers with the company’s Marion Ross Pullin Studio Artists will perform works that inspire them. Some might be opera arias, others might be Broadway tunes. The idea is to allow the artists to show off a side of them that doesn’t hide behind a great opera character, said Arizona Opera General Director Ryan Taylor.

The cost is $15 per person and it includes wine and snacks. You can pay at the door or RSVP to Brooke Sanders-Silverman, 326-1217.
