Tucson-based Kate Breakey's photographs are often still lifes.
But there is nothing still about the life in her works. Take, for instance, her "Hybrid Tea Rose," seen here. You can almost feel the velvety petals.
This and other works of Breakey's will be on view at Etherton Gallery's "Kate Breakey: Slow Light," which opens with an artist's reception from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday.
Also included: selections from her series "Small Deaths; Naturographia; Laws of Mathematics," and a series of landscape photography. The exhibit is on view through Jan. 21. Etherton is at 135 S. Sixth Ave. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. 624-7370.
