Arizona Symphonic Winds will perform its 184th free concert at Udall Park when it opens its 2013 Music in the Park series Saturday.
Concerts are at 7 p.m. Saturdays through June 8 at Udall Park's László Veres Amphitheater - named after the Winds conductor - 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road. This is the volunteer ensemble's 28th season of putting on Music in the Park, a series that focuses on light classics, marches, Broadway gems and popular overtures.
• Saturday - "Stars of the Future" featuring high school musicians.
• May 25 - "Magical Sound of the Horn" with guest soloist University of Arizona professor Daniel Katzen, who was a horn player for the Boston Symphony.
• June 1 - "Sweet Sound of Cello" with guest cellist Theodore Buchholz - Tucson Symphony Orchestra and Pima Community College faculty member - perform Saint-Saens' Cello Concerto.
• June 8 - "Stars from the Winds" with the spotlight on principal trumpeter Carl Fetkenhour.
