Give some dogs a bit of liberty on Friday by taking part in Pima Animal Care Center's Fourth of July Dog Walk and Cat Cuddling Event. Volunteers age 16 and up can stroll or job with a pup through Christopher Columbus Park, north of the Pima Animal Care Center, 4000 N Silverbell Road. The center needs dog walkers and socializers for the hundreds of dogs they have ready for adoption to make sure the animals get their proper exercise. Volunteers must RSVP today.

Volunteers are needed to make Pima Animal Care Center's Fourth of July Dog Walk — and cat cuddling event — a success.

The event takes place from 8 to 10 a.m. at PACC, 4000 N. Silverbell Road. There's also a volunteer open house at 10:15 a.m. where you can learn how to get involved.

Families are welcome to take part in the dog walking, but only ages 16 or over will be able to personally walk a dog.

Potential dog walkers are asked to RSVP to andrew.stocker@pima.gov by today, Wednesday July 2.

If you discover your forever best friend you will be able to adopt him or her on Saturday.

Also! Donations of used towels and and canned dog food are much appreciated.
