It's been over a year since Vero Amore moved into Plaza Palomino with the intent to stay a few months until its new home was built nearby.

However, time has a way of slipping by; and construction has a way of getting delayed.

But the pizza restaurant has finally moved in — the doors to its new home at 2920 N. Swan Road, also in Plaza Palomino, opened today.

And it's an impressively large space: 4,000 square feet. Need more room? There's another 2,500 square feet in the dining patio.

The Neapolitan pizza will be baked in a wood burning oven imported from the home country (that would be Italy). The temperature in that oven? A cool 800 degrees.

And if you are in the mood for a private party, the restaurant has an area dubbed the Speakeasy for just such occasions.

The Plaza Palomino Vero Amore, 325-4122, is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays.

Owners (and brothers) Aric and Joshua Mussman also have a Vero Amore in Dove Mountain.
