The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus is in Flagstaff today picking the brains of a pair of noted choral conductors and honing their skills with some veteran vocalists.

It's all part of the eight-day International Boys and Men's Choral Festival, which started today and runs through next Monday. Conductors Julian Ackerley — the Boys Chorus's longtime director — and Hirvo Surva, who leads the Estonian National Opera Boys' Choir and the Ravalia Male Chamber Choir in his native Estonia, are leading the event.

On Sunday, the Boys Chorus will be back in familiar terrain for a festival concert at the University of Arizona's Crowder Hall, North Park Avenue and East Speedway. It starts at 3 p.m. and features all of the festival's participants. Tickets are $15, $10 for students and $8 for children 12 and younger.

If you're up for a trip to Flagstaff, the festival is hosting a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Northern Arizona University's Ardrey Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are $8.75 adults, $4.75 children.
