Tuesday is Tax Day, the deadline to get Uncle Sam what he’s owed.
We’re safely assuming that all of you owed a refund filed a long time ago. But that looming deadline can be a killer.
Here a few ideas to get through it with your sanity — and wallet — in tact.
• Bruegger's Bagels will launch its tax day special Saturday. For $10.40 — get it, 1040 as is the tax form — you can get the popular Big Bagel Bundle, a baker’s dozen fresh made bagels and two tubs of cream cheese. That’s a $3.50 “deduction” — their word, not our’s, but it does fit with the tax theme. The offer is good Saturday through Tuesday, but you have to download and print a coupon off Bruegger’s Bagels Facebook page or sign up for the company’s email club on by Thursday. The eClub is its own reward; Bruegger's will give you a free bagel with cream cheese and other offers throughout the year.
Tucson Bruegger's locations include 1 W. Congress St. downtown, 6165 E. Broadway, 88 W. River Road and 11165 N. La Cañada Drive.
• Ra Sushi at La Encantada, 2905 E. Skyline Drive, is extending its happy hour Tuesday until closing. Normally they offer the discounted cocktails, sushi, appetizers and tapas (from $2.75 to $7.75) until 7 p.m.
