An eatery with a classic car theme plans to open its doors in Oro Valley on Monday.

Husband-and-wife team Chris and Cathy Roberts are putting the finishing touches on their new Ala Buzz Cafe which will replace the now-closed Izzi’s Cafe at 12985 N. Oracle Road.

Ala Buzz will be open 6 a.m.-8 p.m. daily and will serve what Cathy calls “quality, comfort home cooking” with breakfast, lunch and dinner options offered all day long.

“If three people come in and one wants a club sandwich, one wants an omelette and one wants meat loaf with mashed potatoes, we can do that,” said Cathy, a 30 year veteran of the food service industry.

The restaurant will have regular specials, including a 30-minute-or-less lunch deal for local professionals and heavier midday options for retired residents who look to lunch as their main meal of the day.

After the cafe gets up and running, Cathy said they plan to hold car club gatherings in the parking lot, north of East Rancho Vistoso Blvd.

Cathy loves classic cars. She has a 1969 Chevy Nova and 1966 Ford Mustang. She found out about the restaurant space from fellow car enthusiasts.

“They thought it would be an ideal spot to have car shows and show-and-shine type things,” Cathy said.
