Tucson has lost one of its homegrown steak houses.

Chad’s Steakhouse at 3001 N. Swan Road closed Saturday after 22 years of grilling ribeyes and prime rib and cowboy beans.

On its Facebook page, owner Sandi Alford Herrington, who has owned the restaurant the last 10 years, said there is a possible new owner in the wings.

The message on the restaurant’s answering machine said Chad’s is closed for remodeling and hopes to reopen May 1.
