Tucson’s fledgling spoken-word/chamber music organization the Church of Beethoven will host its third performance tonight at the Maker House downtown.

The organization, which has been performing intimate chamber and spoken word concerts for a little over a year in Tucson, is an offshoot of the New Mexico organization started in 2008. Tonight’s performance will feature oboist Devin Gardner and string bass player David DeSoucey performing works by F. Couperin, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Rota, Scarlatti, Shostakovich and Satie while local Tucson author Jenna Orzel reads her poems and writings.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. today in the Corona Room of Maker House, 283 N. Stone Ave. Tickets are $10, $8 for students and veterans.
