El Charro, Tucson's venerable family-owned Mexican restaurant, closed its 3-year-old Sahuarita restaurant on Sunday.

In a posting this morning on Facebook, owner Carlotta Flores said "it wasn't an easy decision. As everyone is aware, running a local restaurant in Tucson continues to be a challenge."

Flores said that the new owners will introduce a new concept call Pub 22.

El Charro still has several Tucson area locations including the original at 311 N. Court St., downtown; 7725 N. Oracle Road in Oro Valley; and the Ventana location at 6910 E. Sunrise Drive.
