El Parador Restaurant will offer refunds to 11 customers who put down deposits to hold events at the now closed Mexican restaurant.

Owner Loretta Jacob Carlson said she was notifying those people today to offer refunds or alternatives for their events, including moving them to another venue.

“We will always refund deposits, absolutely. It is who we are,” said Carlson who co-owns the restaurant, 2744 E. Broadway, with her brothers Donald and Daniel Jacob. The siblings ended a 40-year run in Tucson on Thursday when they announced on Facebook that they were closing.

Among those who received a refund Friday was Dave and Betty Duffy, who planned to hold their 50th wedding anniversary party at El Parador on Aug. 3. Dave Duffy said he is scouting alternate locations.
