Many restaurants are saying "thank you" by offering a free meal for veterans and active-duty military personnel Monday.

Proof of service is required for all offers.

• All you can eat pancakes at Denny's until 2 p.m. today. Tucson locations include 3655 E. Speedway and 4040 E. 22nd St.

• Applebee's - Free signature entree from a special menu. 

• On The Border restaurant - Free “Create Your Own Menu” meals. 

• Chili's restaurants - Free entree from a selection of nine choices, for dine-in only. 

• California Pizza Kitchen - Free pizza. Dine in only. 

• Hooters - Free meal, up to $10.99 in value with any drink purchase.

• Olive Garden - Free meal for veterans and military members from a special menu and 10% off for family members. 

• Outback Steakhouse - Free Bloomin' Onion and beverage. 

• Texas Roadhouse - Free lunch entree and beverage from a special menu. 

• Golden Corral is serving free dinner to vets past and present from 5 to 9 p.m. Locations include 6865 N. Thornydale Road in Marana and 6385 S. Midvale Park Road.

• Famous Dave's - Free two meat lunch combo.

• Stabucks is pouring free tall coffees (that's small in Starbuck-speak) to veterans and their spouses today.

• BJ's - Free lunch entree, or a one topping mini Deep Dish or individual Hand-Tossed Pizza at dinner.
