Lady Antebellum brings tour
to AVA in first for Tucson
Country music superband Lady Antebellum is bringing its “Take Me Downtown” tour to Casino del Sol’s AVA on June 17.
This is the first time the pop-country trio (“Just A Kiss,” “Love Don’t Live Here,” “I Run to You”) has come to Tucson since it burst on the national scene in 2006. The closest it came was headlining the 2013 Country Thunder Festival in Florence.

The nonprofit Tucson Summer Music is looking for volunteers to help teach this summer. The group provides free music education to low-income children from ages 5 to 13 teaching everything from instrument and voice lessons to music theory and ensembles.
The more volunteers the group has the more students they can take on, according to organizers.
Volunteers need to have a solid music foundation in any instrument and should be 18 or older. You can apply online at tucsonsummermusic.com through Friday
Tucson Summer Music gives lessons at St. Philips In the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell Ave., between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. In addition to needing instructors, It also accepts instrument and cash donations. Learn more at tucsonsummermusic.com
