George Markou has put up the "Help Wanted" sign at his University of Arizona area Greek restaurant.

More than a year after a flood in the upstairs business destroyed his Fat Greek restaurant, Markou is planning to reopen.

It's a little later than he hoped; back in the middle of the summer he said he would have liked to open Pelio Grill Greek Taverna & Catering by the time classes resumed in late August.

But last week he was taking applications and hoping to fill between 10 and 15 server positions, four cook posts and a couple dishwasher jobs in order to open by the middle of next week.

Pelio Grill, 994 E. University Blvd., across the street from the UA's main gate, has a menu that is largely a holdover from Fat Greek, which closed in summer 2012. But the restaurant also adds more seafood and sausage dishes that draw their origins to Pelion, Greece.
