Promoters for the Sixto Rodriguez concert have come to a solution in finding a larger venue for the previously sold-out event.

In an email sent out Friday, Rialto Theatre Foundation executive director Curtis McCrary announced that the concert will now take place on April 19 at Casino del Sol’s AVA, 5655 W. Valencia Road.

The venue change followed complaints from customers who purchased reserved seats for the show at the Rialto, but then had to either stand or pay $17 more to sit when the concert was moved to an outdoor space a block away.

The AVA seats about 5,000.

McCrary laid out the details, point-by-point, for ticket holders in the email.

• If you already purchased tickets, you will be given seats at the AVA that “correspond very closely” to where your seats were located at the Rialto Theatre at no extra charge.

• Anyone who paid the extra $17 for seats after the show’s initial move will be refunded within the next 72 hours.

• Those who asked for refunds in response to the concert’s move can retrieve their tickets by emailing dan@rialtotheatre.com online. Ticket holders who want refunds from here on out can request them at the same email through March 18.

• People without tickets may purchase AVA lawn and pavilion seats starting on Wednesday for $30-$35.
