With bikini weather here, Fox and Hound is offering an alternative to high-calorie cocktails especially for the ladies.

Now through June 23, Fox and Hound’s Wednesday Ladies’ Night will feature the Skinnygirl Cocktails alongside Miller Lite and Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy as low-cal alternatives.

The sports bar/restaurant near the Foothills Mall is turning to best-selling author and daytime TV talk show host Bethenny Frankel, a master of squeezing calories out of cocktails. Frankel is largely credited with kicking the low-cal drink trend into high gear with her Skinnygirl Cocktails that use less sugar.

The drinks include the Bethenny Breeze, which is akin to a cranberry and vodka; the “Moscatorita,” which is like a margarita; the Skinny Fox, with fresh grapefruit juice; and two fruity drinks — the Bare Naked Soda (think screwdriver) and the Skinnygirl Moscato that Fox and Hound folks say has “notes of pear, peach and mango.”

Ladies Night cocktails are available all day Wednesdays at Fox and Hound, 7625 N. La Cholla Blvd. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
