Cards go on sale Monday.

Tucson Originals is taking its popular gift certificate program viral this holiday season.

Beginning Monday, the collection of independent restaurants is offering buyers the option of printing a paper copy of the gift cards or downloading it onto an electronic device.

Because the transaction is electronic, buyers also can email gift cards to people on their holiday lists.

The gift certificates can then be redeemed paperless at the 30-plus participating restaurants by showing the digital copy when you dine.

Electronic gift cards will be available in denominations up to $100 and can be redeemed all at once or over several visits. They go on sale Monday.
