We asked the question: What makes a great hamburger?

And Tucson answered with hundreds of people letting us know on Facebook and email where they go for the best burger.

In Thursday's Caliente, check out which burgers made the cut as the city's best and where you can get a burger deal. If your idea of burger nirvana leans more toward fine dining, we've got a few suggestions in that direction.

Here's an appetizer of what we found:

Hacienda del Sol's Terraza Patio & Lounge, 5501 N Hacienda Del Sol Road, dishes up an elegant burger for $15.

• On the other end of the price scale, $3 gets you a third-pound burger at Marana's Steakout, 3620 W. Tangerine Road.

• Among the restaurants whose fans wrote gushing memorials to their burger prowess was The Parish, 6453 N. Oracle Road. The house burger with its rich bleu cheese crumbles and bacon led in reader voting.

For the main course, check out Thursday's Caliente.
