Tucson musicians Will Clipman and R. Carlos Nakai earned their seventh Grammy nomination, this one for Best New Age Album for "Awakening the Fire."

The nominations were announced Friday for the 56th annual Grammys, to be awarded Jan. 26 in Los Angeles.

"I am humbled and honored to receive my seventh Grammy nomination; I genuinely appreciate the support of our fellow Recording Academy voting members, as well as that of the Canyon Records Family and larger community of our listeners around the world," Clipman said in an email. "I am also deeply grateful for my long-running collaboration with R. Carlos Nakai; it is my distinct privilege and pleasure to have been his percussionist for a quarter-century."

"Awakening the Fire" was released in February.
