You're in luck.

The next Friends of the University Libraries Book Sale is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1535 E. Eighth St., at the northwest corner of Cherry Avenue.

There will be well over 1,000 books to choose from, with paperbacks priced at $1 and hardcovers at $2. The exception is a section of specially priced books that would appeal to collectors.

Proceeds help support libraries at the University of Arizona.

"This is everything - nonfiction and fiction to appeal to every taste," said Laura J. Bender, senior director of development for university libraries.

"The book collectors and dealers usually show up first. They're in line - it's like a Macy's sale," Bender said, "but it does go on all day until the books are gone."

Friends of the University Libraries used to hold one enormous sale each spring, but they now hold several smaller ones - depending on how many books are donated throughout the year.

Want to donate? The group accept books on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon at that location.
