Writers, take note: Entries to the 2014 Tucson Festival of Books Literary Awards are open.

Fiction, nonfiction and poetry are eligible for the awards. Up for grabs is a nice piece of change: $1,000 to the first-place winners in each category.

The second- and third-place winners in each category take home $500 and $250 respectively.

And that's not all: Those who place will receive scholarships to the invitation-only Masters Workshop, slated for March 17-18. The workshop follows the 2014 Tucson Festival of Books, March 15-16. The top 50 entrants will receive invitations to the workshop.

The deadline is 5 p.m. Oct. 31. Enter at tucsonfestivalofbooks.org
