Totchos from May’s Counter — a plate of this good stuff will set you back $9.

Dean Knuth / Arizona Daily Star

Napoleon Dynamite would love these.

The Tater Tots-loving hero of the eponymous movie would drool over the “totchos” from May’s Counter. The eatery takes the idea of nachos but swaps chips for a pile of crispy, golden potato puffs that are smothered with moist pulled chicken, rich sour cream, kicky jalapeños and black olives.

This is how you rev up an appetite — although we don’t recommend you stuff ’em in your pocket.

$9 at May’s Counter, 2945 E. Speedway, 327-2421,
