CN Bistro by CaffeNation recently opened in a former Quiznos at 4951 E. Grant Road and is serving up paninis and sandwiches with Boar's Head brand meats and cheeses.

The shop has been incredibly busy since opening on Feb. 18, said Irina Rudnitsky.

She and her husband, Alexander, also own CN Bistro by CaffeNation at 3191 E. Valencia Road, and are open to the idea of a third location later this year, she said.

The couple, who are from Russia, opened their first coffee cart at Tucson Medical Center 17 years ago.

In 2009, CaffeNation finished first in a Caliente Food Fight that asked readers who makes the best coffee in Tucson.

Both shops offer the same menu of sandwiches, soups and salads. The couple get bread from the Village Bakehouse and have fresh bagels brought in daily.

They bake their own scones, muffins and sometimes strudel.

Hours at the Grant Road location are 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Valencia shop is open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday and is closed Sundays.
