“All Is Lost,” starring Robert Redford as a man stranded at sea, may not be scoring big this awards season (it received just one Academy Award nomination, for sound editing), but it was at the top of many critics’ best-of lists. The Washington Post’s Ann Hornaday gave “All Is Lost” four stars, calling director J.C. Chandor’s film a “technically dazzling, emotionally absorbing, often unexpectedly beautiful experience.” She also praised Redford’s performance as the finest and bravest of his career. Take that, Academy! Extras include commentary by Chandor, a making-of featurette and a special-effects reel.
