The view to the south looks over the loop trail and in the direction of the 1944 crash site which the bridge honors.

Have you walked or biked along any part of the Loop? The Loop is a system of paved shared-use paths and bike lanes the covers about 130 miles through and around Tucson, South Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley and unincorporated Pima County.

In December 2016, Rick Metcalf completed his goal of walking the entire Loop in one year. We aren't asking you to do that, but if you do ... congratulations!

We'd like to have reader photos of each mile of the Loop. If you are walking or biking on any part of the Loop in the next few months, take a selfie, or have a friend take a photo of you on the path.

Share the photo with us by uploading it to or emailing it to and tell is as closely as possible just where you were on the Loop at the time. You'll find a useful map you can download at and you can even mark your spot with an "X" on the map and email it to us.

Please include the name of the person who took the photo, who is in the photo and the date it was taken.
