Here are more than 200 reasons to get out and about this weekend:
The fall Open Studio Tour. Close to 225 artists who live in and around the city will throw open their studio doors this weekend so you can see how and where they work, talk to them and learn more about their art.
And you want to take the tour: our area is packed with some pretty thrilling artists.
They are painters, ceramic artists, furniture makers, jewelers, sculptors and even performance artists. Some of the work is pricey, others not. Some are part-time artists, others are lucky enough to make their living at it.
But all have this in common: they make our community culturally rich, intriguing and exciting. Those are among the reasons why more than 10,000 Tucsonans spent a weekend cruising through the studios at last year’s tour.
The Open Studio Tour is happening from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It’s free (the tour, that is, not the art — though we are willing to bet there will be bargains ).
