A little Cinderella magic took the Pizza Madness Week 2 matchups down to the wire.

Two Girls Pizzeria in Green Valley/Sahuarita came within six votes of causing the biggest upset of the Pizza Madness tournament so far. With an hour to go, Two Girls was beating Brooklyn Pizza Company by almost 20.

Brooklyn posted on Facebook: "It's the last hour to go vote. We're down but not out. Thank you to all our loyal friends and customers who have kept it close!"

About 100 people voted in the last hour, but Two Girls couldn't hold on to the edge. Brooklyn pulled ahead to advance to the next round where it will face Reilly Craft Pizza & Drink. Reilly crushed No Anchovies 166-63.

"Thanks to all of you who voted for us," Two Girls Pizzeria posted on Facebook later. "We fell a few votes short and would have won any other match up. Unfortunately we were up against the number 1 seed. Thanks again all you 2GP fans. Check back here later in the week for a special offer to all who voted. We love you!!!!"

In other matchups

Frog & Firkin handily beat Bianchi's Italian, 144-73. The Frog will face 1702, which emerged victorious from a tough battle against Time Market with a final vote tally of 109-81.

Frog & Firkin had plenty of fans in the comments. Marianne Lewis Clinch posted, "We drive from Phoenix to eat pizza at Frog!"
