The summer heat zaps the life right out of us — even our will to dress.

What do you wear when you’re ready to throw in the sweat-soaked towel?

“When it’s so hot out, little light-weight dresses and flip-flops are the way to go,” says Lou Anne Kolt, who owns Clique.

Dresses that skim, but don’t cling, are easy to wear, she says.

Kristie Moore, who owns Grand Central Clothing, echoes the sentiment about heat-wave-worthy wear. Rompers are popular, too, she says, and you can’t go wrong with an easy-breezy tunic that can double as a swimsuit cover-up. Another good piece for the heat: a kimono.

“They’re for everybody,” says Moore of the drapey open jacket. “Young girls can wear them, moms can wear them.”
