Hullabaloo won’t be the only festival joining up with Cyclovia this year.

The city of South Tucson has its own fest in the works — its inaugural Feria de Sur Tucson, which will take place along the South Fourth Avenue Cyclovia route from East 28th Street to East 36th Street.

The free event will feature a variety of entertainment options, including Lucha Libre Mexican wrestling, a car show, a kids fair and 30 bands of all genres playing on five stages.

Proceeds from drink sales will go toward programs for the elderly and youth, as well as educational scholarships.

Feria will showcase the best that South Tucson has to offer, said city clerk and festival spokeswoman Veronica Moreno.

She added that holding it the same day as Cyclovia seems like a positive.

“They have included South Tucson as part of its route since the beginning,” she said. “We thought it would be great to work in partnership with them.”

Organizers expect more than 20,000 people at the new event, which will run from noon to 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
